Grand Rapids Michigan Travel

This blog post describes some of the things I did in Grand Rapids, Michigan during the 4 full days I spent there. I'm a nurse and wonder what to eat, drink, do and Instagram during my trip to Grand Rapids Michigan. There are not many rapids left except for a few sections here and there, but the city of Grand Rapids is working on a fantastic project to bring them all back, so I took inspiration.

As a downtown attraction, the Grand Rapids Art Museum houses permanent and traveling exhibitions ranging from the works of Michigan artists to the furniture that has made the city famous in the industrial design community.

Families can also take part in a variety of interactive activities - interactive exhibits that children can explore and learn. The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids and accommodates nine key exhibits on two floors. For people who simply want to learn more about the history and culture of the Grand Rapids region, including nearby Lake Michigan, it is a great destination for children and adults alike. I must say that the food landscape in Grand Rapids is impressive, and while we were there, we chatted over our meal and took home a bag of beans to remember our visit to Grand Rapids.

We looked out over Grand Rapids and its downtown, which is crammed with enough beer to earn the nickname "Beer City USA."

If you're not visiting in the fall months, the Medical Mile is a great way to get to know Grand Rapids. We recommend this because you don't have to worry about the ride to sample some additional craft beer tastings. If you want to eat the best things in Grand Rapids, but don't necessarily want to travel to many different restaurants and neighborhoods, you're in luck. See Saturday night and stroll through the parks, streets and monuments to learn about the history of the Grand Falls and its history, as well as the city itself.

Although the New Holland Brewing Company is technically located in Holland, MI, and not in Grand Rapids, its brew is brewed in Grand River, Michigan. They enjoyed some of their craft beers, which we know started out as the best craft beer from the Midwest and started out in Grand Rapids.

They have a fantastic location and they have some of the best craft beers in the state of Michigan as well as a wide selection of local craft beers.

Located on the west side of Grand Rapids, a short walk from downtown, this hotel is a must-see destination. Located in the heart of the city at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Grand River Street, Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park is the perfect place to take a day trip or even a weekend trip. This includes a variety of attractions, but only the one I trust, a carousel that young children will love. On the east side there are a number of great restaurants and shops, as well as a few bars and restaurants, all within walking distance of the park.

On the east side of the city, you can also visit the Grand Rapids Natural History Museum, a great place for a day trip or even a weekend trip.

Not to mention that Grand Rapids has its own version of the Grand Canyon, the Great Lakes Aquarium and the Michigan Museum of Natural History.

Several trains offer indirect trains on various train routes, and the Pere Marquette train service (# 371) provides direct connections between Grand Rapids and Grand Haven, as well as direct trains to and from the University of Michigan.

The train service between Grand Rapids and Chicago is operated by the Amtrak Company, as are most train services in the United States. For the Grand Rapids to Chicago journey, you must start at Grand Rapids Station and departures from Chicago Union Station must be at Chicago Union Station, with a stop at Chicago International Airport.
